  1. Meanwhile she pays professional golf and you can’t break 90 at your local
    muni.

  2. trying to create swing speed with a bad technique is one of the fastest
ways to play poor golf! you need mass x velocity to create momentum!

  3. Here’s the math on the game today. Lexi averaged 276 off the tee in her
win. The avg par 4 is 400 yards at 6600. That’s driver wedge to gap wedge
all day long. Currently, Grace Park is 30th in avg driving distance @ 255.
30th! So the game is reduced on the LPGA to driver, wedge, putter.
Technique matters not. It is all about how far. Lexi has power and that is
all that matters and that is an advantage you cannot teach. Confusing power
    with great technique…please.

  4. You’re probably are a 90’s golfer from the white tee’s. LOL! I’d love to
see what your swing looks like.

  5. Bobby Jones never had his left heel off the ground, at least not in the
down swing or at impact. Lexi actually has both feet off the ground at
impact. Bubba watson is the only player I’ve seen (who’s any good) do
this.. They both hit it a mile and can get it around the course but neither
one of their swings is very good technically. By the way Bubba has never
had an instructor if that tells you anything.

  6. Mr McLean is just so good at picking out relevant teaching points out of
any swing. I love how he expands on lexi’s strong grip and go through the
ramifications. Great wisdom! Met Lexi and family this weekend at
Shoprite–down to earth and nice people! Best wishes to them all. Lexi is
    one in a million!

  7. What have you said that is correct? That the youngest tour winner in golf
has a bad swing. That you would make her better because of vast totally
unknown knowledge of the golf swing. All you are proving here is your very
limited bias which you continue to ran about.

  8. lol another amateur who thinks he can critique a pro’s swing…..haven’t
seen that one before. Cue Rolling eyes.

  9. @jap4s I said nothing about the PGA Tour nor anyone on it. I am simply
stating that Jim Mclean has no idea what he is talking about. Lexi’s swing
is simply not fundametally sound on any level. Period. She makes up for it
with power. That is what golf is all about today. Give the Asian contingent
on the LPGA Tour Lexi’s distance and she simply would never win. Bad grip.
Bad posture. Trapped right arm. Loss of spine angle through impact and on
her toes to release the club. Other than that..perfect.

  10. Wow, Jim. You have a very special talent there in Lexi. You may have the
greatest golfer in your possession. She has all the intangibles of being
the next #1 LPGA player. She comes off her feet at impact much like Lora
Davies. Who used to be the longest hitter on the LPGA. Lexi already has
that move. She will only get better. You heard it here first: Lexi Thompson
will be the next dominate player on the LPGA. If you’re waiting for
Michelle Wie, wait no longer. Lexi is our next American star.

  11. Both feet off the ground must be a result of powerful swing. My daughter
had same nature move and was htting very long, however she lost distance
when we tried to fix that.

  12. @sabregold19991 Clearly you are to lazy and bias to watch the video that I
suggested. If you draw a line on the left hip at address and the left hip
is further forward at impact that would mean there is lateral motion. Is
Tiger getting better or worse with his new swing? Check his stats in 2000
to see just how well he hit it.

  13. What a talent, this young lady has a wonderful swing, a mixture of speed and
power. Well done Lexi you are an inspiration to all who play this game,
    THANK -YOU !

  14. blows my mind how people who have no clue what they are talking about feel
the need to voice their opinions. how many golf pros do you instruct?
    sabregold?

  15. i just watched Lexi play at the Mobile Bay LPGA tourn. She is
unbelieveable. 66-65 on the weekend. She finished 2nd. I think her
instructor is doing quite well teaching her.

  16. I see some of you say her golf swing is bad. I wish mine was that bad that
I had made over half a mill so far this year and get to play every day and
have a terrible golf swing that works for her but I guess some people have
to complain about everything. Good luck in the coming years Lexi love Uncle
Phil & Aunt Debbie. Looking forward to seeing you at uncle Joe & Aunt
    MILLIES house in Pa.

  17. Says who? You? Let’s guess… you make $10 an hour working at a pro shop.
Maybe you are 23, maybe not and you buy into the hype. Stick with the
facts. You refute what I said if you have the first clue. Oh and by the
way, there are people in this world that play golf and would pay huge sums
to play well. They have more money than all tour players combined that have
ever played this game. If Jim had the answers he would not waste his time
with Tour Players and you would never have heard of him.

  18. Jim McLean taught her nothing. She was/is good regardless of anything he
says to her. He doesn’t even know why the left heel comes off the ground at
impact and whether or not it’s a good thing.

  19. I never said her swing is good. It said it works for her. Just like McLean
says, a strong grip helps get a big wrist set and turn it over for
distance. I did this when I started playing. She’s probably not going to
keep swinging this way when she’s in her 30’s. Remember she’s a kid and
playing professional golf. McLean can’t just change everything about her
swing. Sometimes the best coaches learn to just keep their mouths shut
    sometimes.

  20. I would trust Jim’s opinion way more than some random person posting about
how the youngest player ever to win on LPGA has bad technique. Just hope
Lexi doesn’t run into someone like yourself and find her game ruined as a
    result.
