  1. this drill is fantastic, but i wanted to know–should the tee up front be
placed different distances from the ball depending on if a long or short
    iron is used? thanks.?

  2. My tip..just try to hit the ball first if you’re new to the game..divots
and trying to compressed down on ball comes way later if you can hit the
    ball without missing it first…cheers:)?

  3. This is the best tip you guys have ever done. If you’re a person really
obsessed with trying to have a good swing, you can figure it out watching
videos or just trying to copy pictures by practicing in your living room
for a driver swing. What is really hard to understand is the sensation of
hitting down on an iron shot and this is the only video I’ve ever seen that
describes how to get the feel perfectly. ?

  4. I’ve been wondering, as I’m very brand new to active involvement in golf,
if practicing divots is a thing, and if it should be or not. I think I’m
afraid of making divots and not being able to replace them.

But, I’m going to try to imagine looking ahead of the ball instead of at
    the ball. ?

  5. How much do you compress or trap the ball to the ground? I sometimes
overdo it that I go really steep on the downswing resulting in a big divot
and slowing down of my downswing on impact.?

  6. Thanks ! Gonna try this on the course today got plenty of spare tees !!
Last time I found I was sliding my hips first to get in front of the ball
to do this and allow the bottom of my swing to be ahead of the ball….seem
to also work . Great vid thanks?

  7. My divots usually start after the ball but usually start with a clear
indication of where the ball was. Would you recommend working on my ball
placement so my divots are further ahead? The divots usually start right
after the ball oppose to the 1 inch mark.?

  8. quick question… should you keep your left arm close to the body on the
back swing and the right arm close to the body on the down swing?

  9. Great video, I sometimes catch my iron shots a bit thin because I am not
over the ball enough at impact this drill should help. Keep up the great
    work.?

  10. Whenever I hit it “not doing this drill” the ball aways just stays straight
on the ground. What should I do? ?

  11. It’s it necessary to take a divot when using irons? I always seem to hurt
my wrist when trying to catch some grass.?

  13. The key thing is not to “try” and strike down on your iron shots as this
can effect your plane. Your focus should be more to strike the ground after
the golf ball. This always seems to work better for our students.

  14. I notice you do this using a tee, would your point of impact with the
ground not be so far in front should the ball be rested on the grass or is
your tee so long that the difference is negligible? Thanks

  15. This is a GREAT drill. Even a piece of broken tee laid upon the ground
forward of the ball works well too. For me, it serves to take the visual
focus off the BALL and places the visual focus AHEAD of the ball. That way,
I am not hitting “at” the ball but rather the ball just gets in the swing
path of the clubhead as it heads for the tee forward of the ball. Love your
    videos!

  16. Great tip. I used to never have a problem striking down on the ball with my
irons and getting a nice trajectory plus decent distance. Lately, I’ve kind
of lost that technique (think it’s because I’m not playing as much) so I’ve
been looking for a way to get it back. This will be a great help.

  17. Good stuff. How about a video on using the bounce while pitching. Have real
trouble separating full swing & pitches & end up too steep when pitching.
Any drills to get me shallowed out & use the bounce more effectively Thanks

  18. Hi Daniel. The tee forward is fairly high and ideally you would be first
striking the ground just after the ball. The divot would finish roughly
where the tee is. This drill ensures that the bottom of the golf swing is
    after the ball. Thanks

  19. Always had the feeling that the clubheadof my irons my iron swing was way
before the balland I will try this onthe range in San Diego and let you
    know the results.
