  1. Its pedantic I know but you can’t change your posture like that without
making your head come up, so it’s the same as saying you are lifting your
head. people know what you mean, even if it isn’t technically correct.?

  2. Thank you!! This is exactly what I was told (and of course, forgot) at a
clinic! Getting my chair out tomorrow!?

  3. This is exactly what my instructor told me to work on. I am topping balls
almost constantly. I don’t have much extension so I feel my self lifting
up. Either that or I try to fix it and take out chunks of grass. I
totally stink right now and am great comic relief at the driving range, but
I’m determined to practice and aspire to one day be average! HA! Thanks
    for the instruction.?

  4. Hi triggz00, great to hear you are working hard on your game. Pain in your
left hip could be a for a number of reasons. It could be you are going too
much laterally as you work through the ball instead of moving laterally
first and then rotating. It could be an underlying injury from another
source. It may be you had fatigued these muscles doing another activity and
then it showed up as pain in your golf swing.

It is difficult to be sure without seeing you in person. I would suggest
that if the pain continues either come and see me at the Academy, or visit
a local professional or physical therapist who has experience with golfers.

I hope that helps and all the best with your golf game.

    Derek?

  5. Any updates on anyones progress? Had some issues today at course with this,
now my left hip is alittle sore.?

  6. I wanted to try this, but the chairs I have are too tall that my “butt
cheeks” can’t rest on the top of them 🙁 Fail! Lol?

  7. I boil it down this way; Look at Arnold Palmer’s golfswing, he did in fact
keep his head and eyes over the golf shot longer than any pro golfer, I
have I ever seen, after impact. I do the same thing. In other words the
idea is to keep the head in the same relative position to the ball at
    impact and a bit beyond.

  8. Thanks for the question Bob. You are right it is not easy to take a chair
to the range to do this drill. I would definitely suggest doing it with a
chair at home first and get a good feel for what you should be doing. Once
you have that feeling I would suggest using two golf shafts or alignmnet
rods pushed into the ground to represent the chair when you are at the
range. I hope that helps. All the best, Derek.

  9. don’t think that bringing a chair to a driving range is reasonable…any
other “more practical” suggestion? Do not intend to be sarcastic…..

  10. You can practice your swing other places (backyard, living room, etc.) with
    a chair… Just don’t hit the ball indoors 😉

  11. no problem, just imagine a chair resting on your butt and try to keep that
connection throughout the swing. I did and this works.
