@saemj why is one guy’s tip on youtube worse then another guy’s tip?
You guys are idiots. Clearly his whole “pendulum” thing was incorporated
only in his reachback. After that he chops the elbow just like every other
guy out there that knows what he’s talking about. Shut up and talk smack
when YOU’RE a pro/instructor/professor who is successful enough to make
disc golf your JOB.
I respect this video is about learning to drive but if everyone spun around
in a 360 people will be rolling their ankles off the tee pad and for wooded
fairways you can easily lose a disc if your not watching. Not a good piece
of advice in my book. However, I am going to try your “Berkley Grip” to see
if that works…
Great video, as an older Disc Golfer that has been playing 25+ years I was
losing distance & power with my old throw. Changing my throw to incorporate
your mechanics has helped me get back to a longer throw. Thanks. For the
pendulum critics. Pay attention to the video he uses the pendulum to drop
the disc backwards and to pull the disc through your chest.
Im thinking he is teaching the Swedish style.
i cross step like it’s a war dance to pick up extra speed, but i wonder if
i am actually slowing down at the end like he mentions in the video.
basically any extra steps are to pick up a little speed, and your throw
should begin in earnest when your left foot hits the ground and follow
through again like the beginning of a more basic throw. very well directed
video, and clearly explained body mechanics.
@awine44 Because the pendulum idea will never get you far, while the ellbow
idea is the right way to generate snap.
Sorry, but the pendulum bit is terrible advice. The most important part of
the drive is pushing the elbow forward adn NOT keep your arm straight like
a pendulum.

Yes- more in the future please. Nice Vid.
Great video very informative. . .
