The Golf Swing Weekly Fix Hip Sway and Push Slice Shots with Mark
Crossfield PGA professional AskGolfGuru. Mark talks about hip sway and how
the set up at address can influence a poor backswing and resulting off line
golf shots. Mark also talks about how to deal with the push slice with your
driver or iron play. The famous chicken wing golf fault shows itself in
this weeks fix and Mark talks about how to improve your swing for
straighter less chicken winged swings. Also this weeks weekly fix question
of the week deals with hybrid/rescues against fairway woods. Improve your
golf swing and enjoyment of the game with Mark Crossfield.?
i personally LOVE my Taylormade Rescue! Mark, I have a question that I
really need you to answer: I bought your app, and I sent my swing, how do
you respond to it or review it if it doesn’t get on your vids?
I have experienced the same, I was placing my ball father back in my stance
to try and compress it. Big mistake and now my left ear is my guide.
I absolutely HATE fairway woods. Give me my 3iron any day of the week.
aww for me with my slice moving the ball back in my stance helped me a
little bit as i am also an avid baseball player so i am used to snapping my
wrists a bit earlier
I’m the opposite I can hit the fairway wood off the deck fine, but can’t
hit my hybrid to save my self. Always snap hooking. But with fairway wood
small draw.. Hmmmm
I have dramatically improved my driver shots by staying behind the ball, as
mark says left ear inline with the ball, however my irons i have tried both
and it seems easier to to hit irons behind the ball, it has helped me
eliminate a strong fade and mor penetrating straighter shots.
I pretty much play the 3 wood always over the hybrid, the only way I can
straighten my hybrid out is if I try to cut across ball from outside to
inside, but 3 wood goes 50-100meters further
Hi Mark, great job, great drill and thank you so much for the “sway / hip”
tip. Cheers
Mark! Please help me keeping my knees and legs more stable during my
backswing. My legs kinda woble a bit, and im trying to have a good torso
turn, without using my legs to help me swing back.
The first 3 minutes I believe you have just cured my swing. People have
always told me my alignment was causing my slice, but no one has ever told
me that I was standing to straight up.
Hi, this is a great tip! I don’t think I have a problem with swaying my
hips. My main hip related problem is getting them to fire and start the
swing before the rest of my body. This causes my hips to be less then the
ideal position at impact. Is this the proper way to use the hips, or is it
more of a fix for people who push slice the ball? It seems that I can’t get
my hip movement correct. Also, would you be willing to look at my swing if
I sent a video through YouTube?
lol, my best friend was a Cub’s Fan. I have a huge fan living across the
street and work with another too. I am trying to figure if it would be
better to be a scooper with my wedges? I use colon type clubs, I am old and
just started playing (2) years ago.
hi mark please can u review the benross quad white driver i am thinking of
getting it but i cant find any reviews of it please rrview it at some point
yeah I’m a pretty big cubs fan even tho they aren’t very good lol. i have a
4 wood cubs club head cover and cubs tower for my bag lol
Thanks Mark. another great video !! stored it in my Favorites
waaa, Cant view this video any longer 🙁 Anyone else having issues?
Ole Marky Mark
I usually have a strong push/slice with my drives (50% today ! ). Also
you’r right i try to hit it to hard, and i think that’s why i sway on my
back swing. And when i hit it “cool” i do the same distance as well. (220m
average). Thx for thoses advices, can’t wait to try it ^^
Have you had any experience with the Medicus Dual Hinge driver and like
with any other training club does it work?
yeah ill be a sophomore in high school this year and i just started playing
last year and i have the burner 1.0 irons and i wouldn’t be a scooper with
my wedges. if I’m doing a little short chip like from right off the green
or something ill just pull out like an 8 iron and do a little bump and run
type shot and it really works for me
Every one of your videos leaves me feeling less stupid, and my golf has
improved amazingly. Thank you. 🙂
The beauty about this game is that once you realize that you’re just making
a swing towards a target the ball is just on the way and you’ll start
hitting cleaner better shots and makes you want to come back and play again
and again, it’s the greatest game, lol.
your exactly right with you comment. All these swing faults almost all
disappear if you train your mind to not hit the ball and swing to the
target. I hit my best drives that way
…and rescue club – great for hitting out of the rough; where as fairway
wood – great for playing off the fairway where no grass gets inbetween the
clubface and the ball.
