  1. No… it’s not a penalty to brush the grass. You can’t ground the club head
on the ground. You can certainly touch grass that is alive, but you can’t
brush a dead tree branch or loose impediment. If you did, you will receive
a penalty. That was a very unfortunate violation for Carl and many feel
that this rule should not have happened.

  2. When you took a back swing, I noticed that you brushed the grass behind the
ball. Is that a violation? Is this similar to the Carl Petterson violation
when he hit a leaf on his back swing? TIA

  3. I liked that video because it was very interesting. It really does make me
know a bit more about golf 🙂 It wasn’t at all about water hazards but
about hazards in the outside or something. But again, it was really helpful
    😉

  4. Correction at 0:50 seconds. I believe the penalty for grounding your club
in a hazard in stroke play is two strokes (Rule 13-4).

  5. Thanks for your feedback. Also, please refer to the notes as well. It
covers your options in full detail for both a yellow hazard and a red
    staked hazard.
