I actually worked this out for myself recently, but got a little different
way of going about it. I find that if you have your hands in the center of
your body, and make sure your club is sitting flat on the ground, and that
the club is right behind the ball, you have the ball in the correct
position. From there I simply widen my stance so that the ball sits just
inside my left heel. Once I learnt that trick I pretty much connect with
the ball properly 90-95% of the time.
The music in the background is not a good idea. But like the rest.
If you are a high handicapper ball position is a catch 22. High
handicappers throw the club away (club head passes hands before impact) so
they don’t have a consistent low point in their swing, Without a consistent
low point ball position becomes almost meaningless.Work on impact
alignments (flat left wrist, hands slightly ahead of club face at impact)
and MOST importantly work on TEMPO. With great tempo impact alignments and
consistent low point come naturally. Then work on best4u ball position
Excellent explanation, probably the best I’ve come across to resolve the
two ‘schools of thougt’. Thanks. Jim
you should have stood square to the camera, it’s very deceiving but good
tip.
your stance looks very open but i dont know if that just the angle of the
camara.
Your comment helped me (a high handicapper) realize why I couldn’t figure
out why no ball position strategy seemed to help my consistency. Thank you!
(These “instructors” have many theories, but they are mainly “one size fits
all” which never works.)
Thanks Kip!!!!!
No offense, but this method doesn’t “simplify” ball position. Nicklaus’s
method, for the average golfer, seem to be the simplest or easiest method
to incorporate on the golf course, IMHO.

That was great. Thanks.
