Will, get some lessons with the local pro. he will go through all that with
you,and you will be hitting those irons no problem soon enough. It may
sound expensive, but trust me,it will be worth it.
Do you use rangeballs when you find your yardage? Since they tend to go
shorter and are more “unstable”.
And also on consistency like pre shot routines through to swing etc
Great clip very helpful insight. Thanks
hi mark, keep up the good work! im getting back into the game after a 4
year lay off(was 11hcp now 20), iv just changed my clubs from ci7, to
fitted g20’s to help me out a bit, but since changing i cannot for the life
of me control them??, most of the time im too long, or i land on the green
thinking its a good shot, to get there and the ball has run off (ad333) ??,
my strong point of the game was chipping with ci7 sw, but i cant seem to
chip with g20sw?? had g20’s for two weeks??
A few things that could be wrong: 1. You are picking your head up 2. You
are standing up on the ball 3. Your clubs may be too short
Hi Mark, I’m a 13 year old golfer, I’ve been playing for 4 months and I’ve
been improving well and I’m aiming for a good handicap soon. I’m happy with
every aspect of my game apart from one bit: My Irons! I top every single
one. Its so frustrating, I just want to walk off the course! I’ve tried
changing my swing, stance, ball position, but nothing seems to work, and I
need to get it working! Could you please do a video on hitting the 5,6,7
irons with correct swing, posture, etc. Cheers, Will C
Your topping because you are trying to hit the ball to hard, and when doing
so you are no longer looking down at the ball when you come in contact with
it. Try a not to kill the ball and let the club do the work.
That’s all good mark but not everyone has a launch monitor to hand do you
have any other suggestions
First to comment. Also Mark can you do some videos on training aids. Many
thanks
Great video! Hitting GIR is something I really need to improve. The
distance is there but right now my accuracy is terrible when it comes to
hitting the green. I may drive in the fairway but then I don’t hit the
green. My putting is pretty good averaging around 30 putts per round. I
just need to get the ball on the dance floor.
I just found out that when coming to impact turning only the left wrist to
the ball to get the flat left wrist at impact , but not the wrist and the
upper arm. when I only turn the wrist the left elbow and the left wrist
point to the target at impact ,but when I turn wrist and sholder (upper
arm) the wrist points right of target and up and the elbow left of
target.Question. when coming down to impact should you try to move the left
elbow towards target and squer the clubface with the left wrist?
I had this problem because I wanted to smash the ball. I tend to pick up my
head and look at the ball as well.
Here’s one – learn how to read your ball flight. The basics are: 1/ Initial
direction: straight/left/right. Due to: 80% face angle at ball strike, 20%
swing plane 2/ Ball flight: straight/curve left/curve right. Due to swing
plane. Outside-in slice, inside-out hook It’s a little more complex than
that but those two rules will get you 80% of the way
Smh to the one guy that thumbs downed the video?
