  1. cured my shanks by timing and releasing the club in terms of rhythm between
my torso, waist arms and hands being in sync enabling me to square the face
and boy am I now hitting golf shots and working the ball left right high
and low , happy bloody days loool thanks patricj twas the arm release that
    was causing problems?

  2. Awesome. This advice is about 90% opposite of the Butch Harmon video I
just watched. I’ll try these drills, but in general my shanks are produced
by a widening arc. (2.3 handicap)?

  3. I always feel that when I shank it is a result of coming over the top and
not too much from the inside. This is why golf is so difficult – too many
contradictions. I wish I found it as difficult as you do to replicate an
over the top swing plane lol. I enjoy your videos though.?

  4. Patrick, thanks so much. It was great to find a shank video for low
markers. My shank problems are caused by too late release from power lag.
It only happens once in a blue moon but when it does it happens big time.
Shanked about 40% of balls at the range last night. I knew what was
causing it but couldn’t work my way out of it, and by the end my swing
resembled nothing of my normal swing. Needed something structured and
that’s what you provided. Thanks for the drill tip.?

  5. Hi Patrick,
I have the same problem you mentioned at the beginning of your explanation,
I come down from far the inside. My divots points toward the right and my
ball, generally makes a small draw though.
When I start hitting balls at the driving range, I impact the ball over the
edge of the club face, then eventually I start hitting the ball passing to
the center and then getting to the shaft. I don’t know if this is caused
because of I get tired little by little when hitting too many balls.
Do you think if I put the ball behind my stance this will help me or I just
be solving the problem out by making a new problem.
I would like to know if you think, from the momment my golf swing is too
flat, if triying to change the angle of my hands, let’s say more upright
over the top back swing also could help me here. Sorry for my bad
english, I live in Mexico City. Thank you. ?

  6. you can also do a stable release and keep your arms connected like hogan
when hitting it from the inside, no need to flip it.?

  7. Now I’m totally confused. I just saw 2 videos that said the shank was
caused by an over the top swing. One was David Leadbetter.?

  8. FINALLY someone who addressees the problem i have, coming from the inside
too much and even if i don’t hit a full blown shank I still hit the heel of
the club costing me distance. Great video thanks, will sub.?

  9. Can’t stop it. It’s so frustrating. Don’t think I can get my hands back in
    time??

  10. This is by far the best shank video I’ve seen so far. I have that lag in my
swing and when I’m not able to square at impact, that’s when shank occurs.
95% of the time I shank with wedges, especially when I try to do a full
swing for 100-115 yard shot. Any thought on this??

  11. There are 2 types of golfers… over the toppers and the under spin
flippers. 95% are the over the toppers, I believe. Visit my instruction
    site for more info. Thanks!

  12. Thanks Patrick – I had the shanks in the worse way yesterday – my teaching
professional has me hitting the inside of the ball – has really helped –
but now the shanks have appeared. Will take your drills to the driving
    range !

  13. Hi patrick, my coach and i work very closely talking about the golf swing
in great depth and hopefully u agree, we believe the most common cause is-
at the transition into the down swing uve started with ur shoulders, moving
the club over the plane (over the top), and it stays there. So they still
have an in to out path but over the plane, let me kno ur thoughts cheers
