How come on the slow – mo the ball is in a different spot? ?
PING, like Mizuno, measure grip off lengths. Tiitleist measures grip on.
The lengths should match up in reality.?
i have the 712 cb in 3, 4 iron an the rest are MB’s wouldnt trade them out
for anything 😀
an i personally think ping make ugly irons beautiful woods though ?
Another great review Mark. I have been using the s56 since the beginning of
the 2013 season and absolutely love them. I did consider the s55 until I
checked out the lofts on Ping’s site. I really didn’t like the fact that
they made them pretty much all stronger, since I really like my ball fight
and yardages with the s56; 8 iron avg 160 yds.
What are your thoughts on why you think Ping made this change??
where is the best place to get a good fitting ??
Can you do a series of reviews for the X2 Hot range of clubs? Would love to
hear what you think of them.?
I do like the look of the titleist, but the Ping looks more forgiving. I
can’t wait til I strike the ball well enough to buy some of these.?
Mark – I would love it if you’d compare s55 to mp64 – I’m considering a
switch and need a second opinion :)?
Like you say Mark, I would guess the S300 shafts in the Titleist could be a
little better for you than the CFS shaft in the Ping, so like you say, the
Pings would need to be ‘specced up’ to a slightly better performing shaft
for you. It’s not really an ‘apples to apples’ test.?
Well,I buyed the CB and I also compared them to the S55! I think the CB are
much more forgiving and also have a better feel off the face! I had an
average distance ( 7 iron ) of 190 yards!! With my old i20 155…so well
great irons with a pretty high ballflight! 😉
?
Top review Mark! I tried both of them up against the cleveland cb’s and
chose the Cleveland’s after your review of them. ?????
I got fitted two weeks ago for ping s55 with projext x 5.5 rifle shafts.
They came out way best on test for me , better than Titleist cb or ap2.
Better than mizuno too. Launch on a 7 iron was around 19 degrees and spin
was around 5000. I was hitting it at least 15 yards further than anything
else. Irons should arrive any day now from ping..cant wait !! Excellent
review BTW !!!?
Mark, all things including ability level being equal which clubs from
Driver through to Putter would be in the Crossfield dream bag??
I’ve hit both these irons and prefer the Titleist. The ping’s feel heavy
and clunky and the sound at impact just doesn’t do it for me. They’re both
good irons but I’ll stick with my Cobra ACP’s thanks. ?
Getting fitted tonight!!! Thanks for the videos, Mark! ?
Them S55’s look great!?
Nice comparison, I have been hitting the Titleist CB 714 and they feel
great, although it would be good to see them with A KBS C Taper shaft, any
chance of reviewing this shaft with different clubs? ?
