@newwavemedia Homemade discs? i can see an inova stamp on one maybe two of
them, the rest are probably all inova as well with the stamp removed a
couple are dyed as well.
@newwavemedia homemade discs? Are those PDGA approved?
So what type of disc is good for a beginne? Right now I use a 150 class
leopard. I like it really well but I am wondering if it is to lite.
Thanks for the insight! I really appreciate it!
@BIGboy2987 Getting too high can cost you both distance and accuracy. Try
to throw almost level without getting too low. Don’t worry about putter vs.
driver distance. A lot of people start out throwing both the same distance,
and some advanced players can really fling a putter too.
Hey there friend, welcome to disc golf. I’ll just give you a pointer or 2
to start with, first of all, being new to the sport I would throw somewhat
understable drivers, meaning a driver that will turn to the right and the
come back left. this will maximize your distance at the early stages of
developement. Also, some “form” basics, as you will notice in this video
the guy extends his arm behind him to where he essentially has his back to
the basket, or wherever hes throwing..
nope, all the tee signs say feet where I live. I’m lucky to get 300′ in two
shots!
what about a champion shark?
great vid i love disc golf
I fall in the dumb ass category. But to let you in on a secret, take a
closer look at my username. It’s not just a clever name.
then you have one of the weakest throws known to mankind. ask
anybody…you’re wrong.
@pmcnutty I highly doubt he uses homemade discs. Firstly because injection
molds are several thousand dollars each, plus the PDGA approval fee is $400
per mold. So to play in a a tournament with homemade discs would cost you
at least (depending on how many molds) 10k, when you could just buy the
same discs for around $200.
Nice footage. There aren’t many vids out there where you can see the whole
flight of the disc. Just out of curiosity, how far are those shots
traveling?
Thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a try =)
anywhere from 200-500′
Actually he uses homemade discs, which are much better than anything you
can buy.
why do I need to ask someone? I know what is and isn’t physically possible.
Don’t try to throw it like a frisbee…throw it flat and straight and
tighten the grip especially when releasing it so it pops out of your hand.
And start out using a midrange disc…easier to learn proper technique with.
Sure, I could try…I’m not much of a teacher though.
can u guys help me analyze my form if u go to my page its ” brian couple of
fun days in slow motion disc golf – help analyze form ” that video
appriciate all the input just trying to rip further so far my max is 350
feet average about 325-330 zone
this will allow you the full extension of your arm, and also increase
distance. I would also recommend concentrating on a nice level throw across
your body, as is also demonstrated by the dude in the video. if your disc
is getting alot of elevation, it is most likely due to your arm not being
level. Well there are some basics for you man, I hope they help and feel
free to friend me and we can chat disc golf anytime.
When does being ripped and black come into technique?
Practice practice practice. The guy in this video plays a lot. A second
video will come in spring 09.
That, or maybe if he took a few extra run-up steps…he’s already throwing
pretty far.
