  1. Mel, thanks (from Down Under) for such a straightforward excellent
instructional video. Feels good on my home carpet… can’t wait to try it
on the course tomorrow ! I’m now curious to have a look at your other
    videos…?

  2. YouTube (and the rest of the internet) needs more videos like this! So many
    instructors use “golfspeak” and/or nebulous metaphors in their instruction;
forcing their students to desperately try to interpret what they mean.
Almost every person I have spoken with about golf lessons has admitted to
nodding to the instructor out of fear of looking “stupid”. In my
experience, I have found that a lot of instructors purport the most recent
gimmick rather than focusing on the fundamentals. BRAVO!

  3. I have just started playing regular golf again after 4 years and my first
fears are chipping as I can nail my drives nad irons but when I miss a gree
I struggle – this was just great to watch and watch and listen as i
practice the swing in my home office – no work being done but my chipping
is improving and at least now i have a solid basis to work on – great video
and such clear instructions Mel, thank you

  4. This is an excellent instructional video. Chipping is so reliant on
confidence in your technique. After absorbing and practising the method,
explained in this lesson, I can’t believe the improvement in this part of
my game. I got to a stage where I became petrified to chip in case I duffed
or thinned it. Thank you for uploading this clip, golfschools. I’m very
    grateful

  5. Glad you liked it Dennis. This is one area where you can improve your
    scores almost instantly!

  7. Thanks for the tips, perhaps i can now reduce my score by 10 shots on every
9, as the short game kills me

  9. Excellent and concise. The key points raised on things you can do
incorrectly hits the nail on the head for me, indeed it is me! Easy to
understand tips has helped me considerably.

  10. What about ball placement, should it be in the middle of your stance or off
    your right toe?

  11. My chipping technique, or what I thought was technique, had completely
disintegrated when I chanced upon this fantastic video – so simple to
understand and so easy to execute. I just spent 30 minutes at the range,
and started feeling comfortable instantly. From the very next day on the
course, I have started chipping and one-putting so often I can’t believe it
is me. I occasionally still tend to lift my head but I fix it immediately
as I know where the problem is. Thanks Mel, much appreciated.

  12. Playing golf for many years now an recently just lost my chipping
capabilities, this video is good to get started again. Thanks a lot!.

  13. I have trouble trusting my chipping technique when the ball is in a
different lie, maybe the ground is a little muddy, uneven, slightly
burried….etc. maybe you could give some tips on chipping through diffent
    lies? Great video though. thanks

  14. What an amazing video. I cant believe how many fixes I need to make after
watching this, hopefully this will take my handicap down under 18 🙂
