Golf ball fitting is it worth it? with AskGolfGuru Mark Crossfield. ?
Unless you are a virtual scratch golfer getting fitted for Golf balls is
pointless because most golfers are not good enough to use the most
expensive ones anyway?
Why does every question start exactly the same. There is definitely some
trickery going on…?
I personally believe it comes down in the end to the “feel” of the ball
according to you. How it feels to you off the putter, how it feels off a
wedge, driver etc. If it gives you confidence to make your shots, then your
going to start playing better all round!?
My choice was based on cheapest 3 piece ball (as I still lose a few ????)
Managed to get 12 for £15 callaway CRX from good old sports direct not sure
I’m good enough to tell if it’s the ball or my strike as yet. I Need
consistent striking before I play around with more expensive balls.?
My good friend is an amateur golfer and is getting ready to play his first
pro tournament on the Great Lakes Tour in Canada. He has asked me to caddy
for him I have played golf for 8 years but never caddied for anyone. What
are some important things that will help me be the best caddy ever? :)?
Thanks for answering my question Mark! It definitely helps!?
hi mark, how did you go about becoming a teaching professional ? ?
it is all mentally… if you think your golf ball is going to improve your
game, you will play better in my opinion. Great videos Mark. Keep up the
good work!?
In terms of the high end balls there’s really two kinds… Spinny (pro v1)
and slightly less Spinny (pro v1x). Then outside of that it’s more a
personal decision and maybe the way it feels in terms of putting and such.
I personally game the Pro v1x because i hit my wedges very high and don’t
need all the extra spin to hold greens. ?
Hi Mark. Enjoying your videos. Can you give us your opinions on SST shaft
puring in terms of irons AND drivers please? I use a Snake Eyes Viper Tour
and have found that the Pured version routinely goes 15-20 yards further
than my identical practise club? Thanks Jon?
14 Driver shots? What about the 2 to 4 extra from ob’s?
For me “putting” is the decision maker when it comes to the right golf
ball. And then it’s all about the feeling of the putter as half (or even
more) of my shots are with my putter. Next would be how the ball feels of
the wedges or short irons. Just my personal opinion on this issue.?
I do agree that getting fit for a ball in order to gain 4-5 yards won’t
help your game all that much. However, expecting a ball alone to give you
better control on the greens is equally silly. Most amateurs, myself
included, don’t hit their approach shots well enough to need a good
spinning ball. Spending almost double to play a tour ball, like a Titleist
ProV1, is simply a waste of money.
My advise to anyone wondering if ball-fitting really helps would be: go get
fit every 6 months or so. Then, try a sleeve of the recommended tour ball
and see if it works better for you. If it does, well then switch to the
tour ball if you can afford it. If it doesn’t help, go back to a cheaper,
softer amateur ball and save some money until you get good enough to
warrant spending the extra money.
Oh, if you have some extra $$$ and don’t mind spending it to improve your
game, find a local golf pro and take some lessons. It will do more to
improve your game than and ball or club will ever do.?
About as worthwhile as club fitting…not!!! Just been fitted for titleist
ap1 and the fitter recommended shortening the shafts by 1/2 inch. Doesn’t
make any sense to me at all, so now my 9 iron is same length shaft as my
old pitching wedge and so on through the set!!! Why???
Great Answer Mark! So informative and correct. Thanks!
I will guess that the correct ball for you, might give you 1 shot per round
in avarage. The best you can do in my oppinion is play with same ball, so
you know how it reacts.?
It depends. I think golf ball fitting is more important when looking into
urethane covered balls. I play the Bridgestone e5 for the green side spin
however my backspin is fairly high 3600 rpm off the driver. The B330 RX was
fitted to me which rolls out and still can check on approach shots. So it
depends if you need to modify driver spin rate, but green side is the most
important.?
Golfball fitting worth it? Yes, listening to Mark ramble on? No?
Hey mark
Can you do a review on the callaway supersoft ball because i do not really
know what it is about to do
