  1. I bought the government surplus potato peeler for $2 at an auction sale.
Apparently the peelers work quite well but if you leave the potatoes in
there too long the abrasive sides keep grinding away at them until they
dissapear. The drill motor might be too small, even this unit with a 1/3 hp
motor works it fairly hard would overheat until I put a forced fan for
cooling. If you could use brushes with very still plastic bristles it would
work better, the brushes I used in this unit are soft.

  2. im thinking about trying to make a homemade ball cleaner myself, thinking
of a battery drill/power drill/blender motor or somehting and some sort of
housing +shaft with brushes on it, how much did this thing cost? and how
did it peel poatoes in the first place?

  3. @mrdirtdriver I bought an used potato peeler. It had an abrasive disk
bottom and abrasive sides. I lined the bottom and sides with soft brush
mats. It works really well. If the ball is cleanable, it is done in 4 – 12
    minutes.
