How about Wilson Staff FG Tour V4 irons. These clubs are awesome. Nothing
better. Why don’t most retailers show golfers Wilson Staff irons. Can you
do a review on these irons.?
Shawn, is that you? Oh, for a moment there, I thought it was Will Ferrell.?
shawn… you’re amazing. your swing lesson is less maintenance.. i am a
weekend to monthly golfer and still have the feel with my swing thanks to
you… God Bless You Always….greeting from Indonesia?
So if someone has money to burn but they have a high handicap (18) or so,
would you still suggest they buy some blades? i thought you had to be a
golf god to use those. BTW shawn, you instruction vidoes are awesome, keep
up the good work.
I just bought some TaylorMade Burner 2.0s, steel shaft. So far, they are
really forgiving since I’m a beginner, they were on sale for only $350, and
the clubs are all pretty good sizes for my height. Now I need a 3 iron or
hybrid, and a 3 wood to complete my set of clubs including my irons,
wedges, and driver.
Excellent videos Shawn!! I really enjoy watching these highly informative
how-tos. Thank you sir!! alan
Hey shawn, I’m a Freshman in High School that shoots around the mid 40s to
low 50s. If I could lower my score by a few strokes I could make varsity.
Also, I am 5′ 9″ tall and 115 pounds. What do you recommend I look at to
improve my score?
I understand what you mean. Only some of his clubs are longer, like some of
his long irons. Thanks for responding. 🙂
@clemshaw Well, I actually had just finished up a round last week, and was
in the clubhous grabbing some Gatorade, and I started looking at the PINGs,
being that my local clubhouse is the only one within 60miles of my house
that carries everything PING has to offer except the nFlight system(the guy
that owns the course played PING when he was on tour)and so I started
talking to one of the pros there about what I wanted in a club, and he set
me up with some Mizuno MP57’s, and I’ve never looked back
Okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I maybe thought that the different
designs advocated hitting it more up/down on the clubface
(steeper/shallower attack) or on the heel/toe. But I guees the different
designs only have a purpose to make you hit the right spots with different
solutions . 🙂
Cheers shawn!! your videos have certainly helped me alot. thank you:)
Hey Shawn I just saw you on the Golf Channel! I also voted for you
I just picked up used Cobra SSi oversized irons and noticed that there are
a lot of marks towards the toe. I also noticed marks in that same area on
my previous (cheap) irons. Is it just my lack of good swing?
You should practice not bobbing your head during your swing demonstration,
also! your hip drive is much too lateral and pronounced and I would think
would cause students to move around too much during their practice. What I
mean is theory is good but should match the demonstration to be effective.
Hi Shawn, i thank you again for answering my question; it was a long time
ago.. Where are you located? i’m from san jose, ca.. i’d like to come to
your fitting center. hope to hear more info. sincerely, Rak
Yes; have a look at my videos called “Don’t Keep your head down” part 1 and
2 and you will understand; Shawn
nice help and good swing
Shawn, This is my 3rd year in high school golf and I’m ready for new clubs
and going on to varsity. I’ve been looking at some blades and I like the
way they feel but I’m just not sure if I should stay with my wide sole
irons. Please Help.
Hey Man! Great goal! Honestly, I recommend you get my DVD series; it is
only $40.00 plus shipping and has all the important information in priority
sequence with all shots executed on course from the driver to the putter in
disc #3; a must have for the competitor at any level! Shawn
Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I will try that. Im going to make my
clubmaker adjust them for me aswell, as that was a part of the deal. Now I
have tried them long enough and Im not satisfied. The posture is really
interesting, because I struggle with finding the right one and I feel Im
getting pulled away from my suction. Could this be related to the length of
the shaft?
Hey Billysboyz; thanks for the comment; the swing I have allows me to
perform under par and hit a minimum of 14 to 18 greens in regulation and
there is a purpose to all you described; Moe Norman had the same amount of
Bob with the head and Bobby Jones had way more hip turn than me; as for too
much lateral, you will not see any of my swing out of balance or out of
stack; have a look at my “Golf Pro Lesson One Leg Drill” video and see a
bit more of what I am about; I would not change a thing! 🙂
If the ball is hit on the heel which direction will it fly? And also on the
toe? For a RH golfer?

Finally a closeup. I’ve just started watching. For the last week I thought
you were a Catholic priest with the black shirt and the white at the top
center of the collar!

Salut Shawn! Cette fois j’ai une question. Je fais 1m90 (6,23 ft), je
devrais donc jouer avec des shafts allongés. Cependant je joue avec des
clubs de taille normale, ils sont donc trop courts. Est-ce grave? Is it
harder to take divots correctly with too short clubs? Thank you again for
what you do, and by the way Edouard Montaz is great too!
