What good is this video if the viewer cannot see the result of the swing
and how the ball reacts to the swing?! I am just saying…?
Ive probably hit 10 thousand balls in the last 2 years. Not one of them
has ever had backspin?
Thanks Dennis, work on it and you will be imparting more spin on your pitch
shots.
I like how specific it is! It gives you definite things to work on. Thanks
I’m confused on how increasing clubhead speed as they say won’t make it
just go farther… Or do you take a shorter backswing instead of a long one
This strategy has been working very well for me in my past few golf
tournaments. My number of up and downs has decreased significantly. Just
one question. Would you tell me the loft degree on the sand wedge he was
using?
Good stuff
Because of the inclined plane angle of the wedge clubface and steep angle
of attack the golf ball is struck below its horizontal centerline
generating higher pressure towards the bottom of the golf ball which
creates lift. The ball is actually rebounding from the clubface as the golf
club is entering the ground where the cambered sole (bounce) helps it to
travel out of the ground with minimized resistance. Thanks for taking the
time to ask a question.
You are right with regards to the club face at impact. The right palm
positioned more facing to the ground at address will allow you to create
more clubhead speed (more spin) without the club face closing as you could
with a normal grip. Thanks for taking the time to ask the question and good
golfing.
Sure; David was using a 53 degree Vokey Design Spin Milled with 10 degrees
of bounce on the sole. The code is SM54-10 Thanks so much for commenting
Great video. But there is no overspin in golf. I hear this from golf
announcers all the time, commenting on putting overspin on putts. To impart
overspin, like a topspin forehand in tennis, you would bury the ball where
you struck it, or almost bury it.
Thanks for your comments, it’s always good to get feedback. I hope it helps
you to get more of your shots into the hole in less strokes.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

the kids are using a leaf blower lol… idiots…
Thanks for the vid. Can you explain how altering the grip to have the right
palm face the ground will avoid thin / top shots? Wouldnt that just cause
the club face to be open at impact? Or is that precisely the objective?
Thanks!
I think he meant more countess speed and crisp contact so the ball may go a
little farther but stick better.
I appreciate your comment re my good technique. As I had mentioned at the
start of the video the shot was to spin and then release to the pin. The
conditions of very firm greens, downwind and conforming grooves were not
conducive to stopping the ball on the second bounce as you and your friends
can. So that is the reason for the spin and release shot I demonstrated.
Thanks for your interest and keep “Spinning those wdges”
I’ve been searching all over the internet for someone that can truly spin a
pitch shot like two friends and I can. I have not found anybody but you
have good technique but the ball did not seem to spin. Also I think it
would help if you used a higher lofted club.
Awesome, Thanks so much!
Good instruction here, very helpful. I had a little trouble seeing the
hands with the shadow but otherwise great video.
I have a bellybutton ?

isn’t bounce creating the spin?
