The lofts are not jacked on the Rbladez. They are adjusted to lower flight
because with the new technology making the ball “get up” better, if they
left the lofts at standard, it would go way to high. As for the length,
well you can butt trim them to length. !/4″ will not effect the distance
much. I have been playing the Rbladez since the day they became available
to the public. They are longer, higher and more forgiving than any iron I
have ever hit. And the trajectory is boring and they cut through the wind
beautifully. I am surprised that Rick did not mention the trajectories of
both clubs. I am also surprised that he did not see the benefits of
hitting a 7 iron, or 6, the same distance as his 5. Or what he might gain
with the longer irons. Also worth noting, is these clubs are dead nuts in
distance control. They always go the distance and I have never had a flyer
off the fairway or a tee. Theses irons are a dream. My HDCP has gone from a
12 to a in just over a year. Its not all the clubs doing as I have gotten
better, however they make me a much better golfer than I really am. I have
hit all the irons available and these shred them all, hands down. When
fitted into the right shafts for your swing, they are awesome.?
I’ve tried the tm rocket blades the distance is unreal , I hit a pitching
wedge 152 ridiculous ! So inconsistent on distances. I have the i20’s and
they are brilliant, you can hit the golf ball to far with the tm’s, the
ping’s are very very accurate.. I play off 10 and we all want more distance
when we play but I would recommend the ping over the tm’s.?
I’m hitting the 7 iron about 197 yard with the rocketbladez and it feels
amazing best club iv used by far ?
I got a TaylorMade Ghost for Christmas so please can you do a putting
video. Thanks. ?
There’s a new golf channel that ye should check out called MDM Golf…
Great new channel with course vlogs and so on! PLEASE check it out and

anywhere from an 18 to a tour player ( half of Ping’s staff plays I20). if
you make decent contact ( slightly bigger than U.S. Quarter), you’ll have
no issue.
Like mentioned earlier, Loft is a big factor in irons, but the end
comparison where he shows a smash factor of 1.38 for the tm vs 1.18 for the
ping is also a major issue in the comparison. extrapolating at a 89mph club
head speed is about 120 ball speed vs about 105 BS for the i20. 15 mph ball
speed, when combined with less loft should play much longer. Having tested
both, I found that comparable strikes were only 3-5 yards longer with the
TM, with the i20 yielding more consistency.
Is the feel of the Rocketbladez better than the i20’s? I own the i20’s and
the biggest thing for me is feel because I use my irons more than any other
club.
Absolutely unless the lofts are properly checked identical lofts compared
and the same shaft installed any distance comparisons are misleading.
So, yeah I’m not as good as you, I hit the RB 7 iron 178 yds my normal 7 is
155-160. It looks like you were not using the tour model. Are the tour
model distances just as crazy? Or are they more normal and consistent?
I would sacrifice distance for feel any day of the week and when it comes
to feel it is very hard to beat a Mizuno iron!
thanks God bless but I am sticking to my new x hot pros for now I think
they go the same distance as the rocket blades and better than rocket
blades tour for me
That can’t b right
Mark Crossfield adjusted a mizuno jpx825 to the same loft and length and
length as the rocketbladz the mizuno was going 5 yards further.
Taylormade say its the speed slot wot makes it go further but we all no its
longer shafts and cranked lofts. Taylormade will continue to crank up there
lofts untill its impossible to get a decent strike. But we all no
taylormade are the kings of agressive marketing that makes you belive you
have the best products im not saying there crap but they aint the best
Hit some 7is the other day and compared them to my VR Pro Cavity 7i. R11,
Ci11, AMP forged, Razr X black, and MP-H4 all averaged ~170 carry (like my
Nike). RocketBladz about 175. Was surprised, b/c like you say it’s
essentially a 6i. P.S. none were straighter than mine, and only the Mizuno
felt better (though all were hit with R shaft and I normally hit S). P.P.S.
Please review the Covert driver for straightness 🙂
Great reviews!
The problem with your feedback is you neglected to talk about your launch
angle and trajectory. yes the loft may be like your 6 iron, but I’d be
willing to bet your trajectory is higher. You are missing out on the
essence of the technology, The reason TM cranked the lofts is because they
were able to create a steeper launch angle and higher trajectory
WHAT SHAFT WAS ON THE TM AND CAN YOU COMPARE THAT TM WHIT X HOT IRONS
I hit both of those clubs and was hitting the i20s about 5-10 yards further
than the RocketBladez with both stock CFS stiff shafts
I’ve just bought a 3 and 4 iron in the rocketbladez and the total carry was
about 15 yards further on each club 😮 !!!! But I agree with you that you
don’t really want a 7 iron to go 200 yards it must lower your accuracy
Rick, in my humble observation, I think when you describe a part of a club,
it’s best it’s shown on close inspection to the camera, so we can see too.
Thx and Good Work.
That has been noted. Please check out my latest review
Excellent review as always, i have the Rocketbladez & have never hit the
ball so well, however struggling with distance control. Hard to force
myself to take less club when its normally the opposite. Have no problem
with lofts being cranked as ball flight is still high. The extra length may
hinder some players but coupled with some lessons these clubs have made
Golf even more fun to play.
Surely i20 vs Rocketbladez Tour is a better comparison?
