I tested out all the new drivers and I went into the store wanting the Bio
Cell+, but it just didn’t preform nearly as well as other drivers (15-20
yards shorter).
So I found the best new drivers were the SLDR, Cleveland 588 Black, and the
Wilson FG Tour M3. I had the lowest spin with the SLDR yes, but my club
head speed was 9mph slower than all of the typical light weight driver
heads and that resulted in less distance. The Cleveland was light with a
deep face, but it tended to ballon up with 3k+rpm on mis hits.
Finally the Wilson, it ended up being a very light weight club, that
averaged spin in 2.3k rpm, and averaged the best distance on pure hits and
off center hits. It is one of the only drivers that comes with a genuine
shaft in it, not a watered down shaft “made for Taylormade” or “made for
Callaway”. The shaft is what makes this club, Alidila RIP Phenom NL, it is
the highest kickpoint shaft Alidila makes (the lowest launching) and it is
true to it’s name, phenomenal.
Wilson isn’t mainstream anymore, but definitely give their new driver a
try, especially with that NL shaft. If you could give a review on Wilson’s
FG Tour M3 Mark that would be fantastic.
?
That’s a good advertisement for Cobra sending out a faulty club to somebody
with 100k+ subs. Great video again Mark ?
SLDR – great leap in technology – would certainly love to play it – price
tag is just obscene?
Having hit both of them extensively I bought the bio cell+ found it to be
alot more forgiving than the SLDR and by that I mean the odd fade/slice
wasnt as exaggerated as SLDR and still maintained the distance. Also the
shaft in bio cell+ is shorter which I guess helps with control.?
Cobra demo day at the range today. Hit the cobra bio cell + and never felt
anything like it. Scarely amount of extra yards compared to my Nike vrs.
Best driver I have hit. Fact. ?
SLDR is the greatest driver ever made, so far.?
The Bio Cell + is an amazing driver! 🙂 I can truly recommend you to go try
it out just as Mark says. ?
I’ve got the 430 and have my rpms below 2000 and I feel like I don’t have
to hit it as high to keep my spin low. No loss in carry distance in fact
I’ve gained carry with a lower launch and spin. I hit my titleist 7.5 d3
around 17 launch 2500 spin. My 430 9 degree is launching 12 with 1900 spin
with a more level angle of attack and my ball speed allows me more carry
this way. Huge sldr fan. ?
I struggle to understand how a launch monitor such as this one – that can
only measure the first YARD of the ball’s flight – can accurately measure
the peak height it reaches? I know it’s all based on ball speed, launch
angles and spin etc – but the drive reaches it’s peak height over 200 yards
away! It all seems like ‘witchcraft’ to me!?
Just bought the SLDR 430 cc head with the speedster TP x-flex shaft, got my
spin down from 4500-5000 to 2500. Amazing club, gained 30 meters carry
compared to my old Rocketballz driver, and another 20 meters roll.?
Good video Mark. I bought a SLDR when they were first introduced. The
clubhead was simply too light for me and I was unable to get any distance.
After returning it I tried several others and found I could actually feel
the weight of the clubhead when swinging the Ping G25. It has proven to be
one of the top drivers I have ever owned.?
I am going to choose between the G25 and the SLDR. My numbers were such
that I was getting better consistent lower spin from the Ping, but that
could also be that I don’t hit it in the center of the face as well as you
do.?
“..sacrifice in MOI on that low-forward CG of the SLDR?” Yep, says the Pro
ViX and GC2.?
A little off topic here but can you please do some videos with Adams clubs?
I’m very curious about the XTD irons. I think they’d give the speed blades
a good run for their money. ?
Bought my Bio Cell+ a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. Playing
it with an 8.0 degree loft and a X-Stiff shaft. Crazy distance and you
can’t go wrong with the look! Definitely recommend it.?
I bought the bio cell + and didnt hit it well because of it being a lighter
swing weight i then switched to the sldr s driver and im loving it. Goes
farther and straighter than the cobra.?
Both drivers are great, personally the cobra wins because of the looks; but
if you put the white SLDR in front of me I’d have a dilemma. ?
Any plans to compare SLDR Vs Bertha? I know you have a grudge against
callaway, but I figured a day in their facility might have buried the
hatchet? ?
Why is it that you are using the 460 head in the SLDR instead of the 430?
:)?
SO THE SLDR IS THE BEST OUT THERE BOTTOM LINE ??
I wonder why he was swing x flex in Cobra seems like he should be using S
flex.?
That is one off the sexiest drivers out at the moment #fitasfuck, love the
flight on the sldr tho?
Mark u should review the new bio cell pro driver that Rickie Fowler is
using, even more low spin than the +?
Use the cobra mark mix it up a little and it looks good?
