You need to get camera angles EXACT for comparison. In this case, they are
not the same angle.
@golfbulldog Your point is understood. On this Take 2 swing, I’m really
just focused on the address. When I get to the transition portion of the
swing, I’ll definitely look into what you said. At this moment, I’m working
on the ‘Take 6’ swing and the takeaway. Working at understanding how Hogan
stayed so shallow with the right shoulder on the way back and up.
@ant7797 Look at your right hip – it moves out to the ball…no room for
your right elbow to get in close (i.e under your chin)….your relbow knows
where your hip is heading …elbow takes evasive action 😉 Turn the right
hip deep and keep it there long enough to create some space for your
elbow…or at least have this as your intention…then see what happens!
Frame 8: I have muuuuuuch less right wrist hinge than Hogan.
Frame 9 thru 13: Hogans entire upper torso appears to be leaning away from
the ball (the old school reverse C), while I am leaning towards the target.
My thinking has always been that I need to move towards the target to
create power. Hmmmmmmm……will attempt the same “reverse” lean.
Frames 3 thru 4: During the takeaway, my right shoulder is getting real
high compared to Hogans. Frame 9 – Hogans left side/shoulder is leaning
more backwards; I am leaning towards the target. His right elbow is tucked
into the right side just as that Arizona Diamondbacks closer pitcher did;
mine is going inwards, just not tucked into the side enough.
The only thing I feel good about in this swing is that my head is staying
down more. The only thing matching Hogan right now is my hat, and maybe
part of the finish.
