hi, after watching the masters, I’ve got the buzz to have some fun on the
driving rage, i want to buy a driver and don’t know what loft to get or the
flex, regular or stiff, thanks?
I’ve always sliced drivers.. more like a boomerang than a golf ball.. I
finally stopped that and got a new driver.. I’m using a MD golf superstrong
st.. thinking ‘it’ll do til I get my cobra’ but honestly I wouldn’t change
it , 16 years old hitting a draw 280 yards all day long!?
Very hard to understand, (and I watch a lot of BBCA) then, he’s using an
iron to show, WTF??
thanks mark for your help ?
10.5 Degrees and shortened shaft, It’s not all about distance
9 degree stiff r11s for a 270 avg. No idea my club head speed though.
Mmm, you need some club head speed to use a 8.5deg loft and more accuracy
due to d-plane.
Got fitted. Choose RBZ Stage 2, normal head, TP 60g shaft, 9.5*. All avg
#s: 112mph head speed, 162mph ball speed, -1.5* AoA, 11* launch, 2500rpm,
270y carry
8 degree Driver, with a flat swing, 120mph swing, 320 down the middle of
the fairway every single time….in my dreams!
Most amateur players tend to play a driver with too little loft. So many
think they are ballooning the ball because of their loft but most of the
time it is a swing flaw that is causing high weak fades. Another thing is
many amateurs like that lower piercing trajectory with driver. Most would
actually get better overall distance with a higher flight taking advantage
of carry. Also the higher the ball flight the easier it is too keep in the
fairway.
Good video… Read an article on the Iseekgolf website here in oz that
compared bubba and Charles Howell III .. Bubba hits up by 5 degs and has an
8 degree loft whereas Howell hit down by 5 degs and has a 11.5 deg driver..
So yes swing speed is an factor but angle of attack is probably more
important..
A good example of this is john daly who ssmashes the driver, so I hear he
youst to cary a driver with 5 degree loft! Lol
I think its prety simple phisics, if you can hit it hard enoughf and so get
it up go for prety stiff shaft low loft, that is what most of the pros do
but if your shaft is just $ flex then get a bit more loft coz you will have
to hit much smother, to low loft be hiting to soft to take advantage of
degree lift
