  1. Had to revisit this one after 9 holes on soggy ground. Too many fat shots!
Yeah, too much weight on back foot etc…?

  2. Holy Cow!… Yes!.. The sternum!… NOT the left shoulder!… You make it
so clear! I’d been taught that the left shoulder indicated the bottom of
the swing, but after seeing this I see how wrong that is, for reasons you
    made embarrassingly obvious by you!..
You answered YEARS worth of questions in that short video… Thank you!

How did you NOT make Golf Channel’s best teaching professionals?… Why do
they have Martin Hall and Brendal Chamblee (Michael Breed is okay) on the
air, but not YOU!… I don’t get it!… I spend an inordinate amount of my
time reading about golf and watching ALL the YouTube instructors (as my
girlfriend would attest to) and have to say YOU are the best!… I watch
them all, but YOU are better!… Thanks for being here for all of us…
Thanks for sharing your CONSIDERABLE wisdom of golf (play on your website
there!). I wish you great success, but please, never leave us!…?

  3. Shawn, you have made a tremendous difference in my golf game. Your
instruction is simple, clear, and so much better than anyone else that I’ve
listened to. A sincere thank you for helping all of us golfers out there!?

  4. Shawn, it’s like every other instructor is clueless when I watch your vids.
you have a way of way of explaining technique that is second to none,
I will study religiously, thank you so much.?

  5. hey coach shawn, i hit fine off mats but when i transition to grass, it’s a
total disaster. why is it that i hit fat and thin shots and even shank it
occasionally off grass? it just seems like i can’t hit down on the ball. i
tried your tips but nothing works. i want to be consistent like i am when i
hit off mats. how do i hit ball first then grass? i try to focus on my
target and let momentum take the ball there but it doesn’t work. thanks,
    david

  6. Hi Shome! Thank you for the comment and kind words; I have over 230 videos
and all you need to do is visit my you tube home page to view them; enjoy!
    Shawn

  7. This video finally brings home some of the concepts Sean Foley has been
promoting with Tiger Woods and Justin Rose. Keeping more weight on the left
side in the back-swing seemed so counter intuitive to me but seeing this
bio-mechanical explanation has clicked for me. Great video, great
    explanation of body positioning.

  8. Hey Shawn, I have your DVD and love your teaching. Just wondering…what
are your thoughts on core seperation at impact. I’m using this off seaon to
get stronger and flexible. (been reading hank haney and Katherine Roberts
new book) What do you feel about that “2 cheek postion” at impact?
Something we should think about or does this happen all by itself? Thanks

  9. I am going to try out all of this ,chin ahead of ball , and weight moved to
left ( as shown), my sternum slightly ahead of the ball,.with all clubs and
revert by the weekend. Looks interesting ..and doable with practice of
course need to see how this works out for me. this may end up messing up my
15 but10 is the way to go …..add the divots i have never ever got. thks
Shawn, Best Shome. PS :I havent seen any other videos of yours …Could you
copy me URLS to get a quick look.

  10. Thank-you so much Shawn. I found that the “Sternum Notch” was the key to
all demonstrated here because it holds everything in it’s right place,
    brilliant.

  11. hi shawn erm do i cup my left wrist or do i keep it flat so if i was to put
a playing card in my glove should it come out bent or perfect?? if you get
me. also when i have had lessons i have been told with each longer iron i
should move the ball forward in my stance so when i come to using my 3 and
4 iron it would be a long tilt to the left to make up for the ball being
further forward in my stance thanks

  12. Ever since I have switched to Shawn’s swing, the problem I have with the
sweeping clubs is that I tend to either slide or lose my tilt in my swing.
It is totally mental and not a problem with Shawn’s method. To quote Yoda,
you must unlearn what you have learned. I noticed that the further apart my
feet are the more like I am to straiten the tilt. If you keep that angle
the drives will go strait. A hybrid should be hit like a 5 iron. You hit
    ball first

  13. There are some teachers promoting a right side golf swing (right hand
players). I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but for those who haven’t, a lot of
the teachers are stating one must use the right hand and arm to control the
club. Some even talk about loading your scalpulas. Personally, I’ve played
my best golf focussing on the target and taking my hands out the swing,
allowing the heavy arm club unit to swing towards the target/ picture I’ve
created in my mind. What are your thoughts on this?
