  6. In my experience, the primary cause of fat shots is loss of brace in the
trailing leg, or swaying. That’s not to say this analysis isn’t correct, it
is very good, but the root is the trailing leg brace imho. Joe Hill

  7. Excellent analysis of a stand up gentleman. As a matter of clarification,
“pulling on the bottom of the club” can be misleading. I doubt Wilson
actually feels he is pulling the club with his hands. His arms are braced
with the torso (well connected), and he is powering the swing with his
rotating torso, which imparts a feel of pulling with left and pushing with
the right. In other words, the shoulders and torso, acting as one unit, is
doing the work, and the arms simply maintain position. Joe H

  8. I did this technique at the range today an I drove the ball like 50 to 70
yards farther. My technique has been incorrect my whole life. I’m excited
    to play again.

  17. the idea of pulling down with the left hand is an old method going back to
the days of the small ball in the 50s, 60s and 70s in Britain. Players were
taught to hit what was called a low riser. I was taught to play that way.
The problem was that the ball just dropped out of the sky and went nowhere.
When the small ball was made obsolete in 80 the method then became
completely redundant. Jack Nicklaus himself says it makes the ball balloon.
It’s not about a view point it’s about experience.
