  1. Wanted to compare my Rocketbladez Tour to the RSi 2…and I can definitely
say the RSi2s ARE more forgiving! Comparing the looks..the RSi2 looks
slightly smaller and more compact than my Bladez, and you do not even
notice the face slots. Feels is very similar which I like (I also have a
set of mizuno MP59s…feel doesnt compare to those however). I compared the
7 irons, and on solid hits the distances were nearly identical between the
two ( ~172 yards carry, club speed ~88 mph, ball speed ~120) but the
biggest thing I noticed was how consistent the RSi2s were. My biggest miss
is a little thin and/or off the toe. I didnt hit any terrible shots…but I
had many slightly mishit shots with my old Bladez only carrying
155-158…but the RSi2s never carried less than 165 on similarly mishit
shots. I hit about 20 balls each So for 20 shots my shortest ball was only
7 yards less than my average vs 15 for my old irons..HECK YEAH! That
extra 7 – 10 yards on slight mishits could be huge during a round. I would
definitely pick these up! However I think I will wait a few months for the
TM Price Drop/ New club Release :)?

  2. Rick, I’ve a set of ping s55’s, I’m thinking of swapping to RSi 2’s. What
    do you think mate??

  3. Rick – I don’t think you would lose “30 yards” (your estimation) hitting
the toe your s55’s. You have clubhead speed (89-94mph iron speed) which
would prevent that kind of loss. Besides the s55 has a lot of mass in the
toe. You won’t turn a 171 yard carry into a 141 yd carry with a toe shot
on s55. Clubhead speed is the great equalizer. I’m not saying TM tech
isn’t helpful, but the benefit is overrated.?

  4. today was clearly the day that PGA pros and others are allowed to release
information — everyone had there videos ready to upload – my sub box is
spammed with this yukkie iron today. The slottie crew can keep their iron
    :)?

  5. Can’t wait to see the comparison with the distance loss of the S55 cavity
back irons to compare how much distance you lose on mishits. Taylor
Made posted a video of robot testing with this iron, but failed to do the
same robot test with their other offerings to show the difference. They
also used face tape which effects the spin. Why not use the spray can way
of showing strike? Does that effect spin as well (does it effect spin as
much as face tape?) I’d also like to see the TP model of this club to see
specs on loft and length and see if the mishits are comparable with the
    S55.?

  6. For you, Rick. If you had to pick between the 2’s or 1’s, which would you
go with? Also, out of all the irons you have tested this year, which fly
the highest without losing distance? Thanks ahead of time.?

  7. Revolutionary my arse. Same old Taylormade nonsense. Irons are irons. Its
all total rubbish. Get some mizunos and have done. I will never buy from
this stupid company who call a 5 iron a 7 iron.?

  8. Your face impacts didn’t always match what you said, like first heel shot
gc2 identified as high toe. I like that you did that but is it “more
forgiving” ie compare dispersion of this to your s55. Your first mishit I
think was 10% about 10 yards ie one club, my Mizuno cavity back is similar.
Also beyond comparison, how about a work ability, can you shape the ball
and besides the one you bladed off the heel, can you hit a knock down? At
the end in an iron it is how does it look to you, how does it feel, can you
hit the shots you want and is it consistent (so if you “try” to hit good
shots, how tight is your pattern?).?

  9. If you look at your club head speed you start off at 84mph and when you end
you’re mid 90’s. The ball should still carry just as far even without these
“speed pockets”. So is this a gimmick or isn’t it??

  10. Hi Rick, I thought the lofts were strong on the S55 I´m surprised they hit
a little shorter than the RSI, be good to see how the RSITP version
    compares.?

  11. Hello Rick!!! Love your reviews and thanks!!
    I am around a 10-12 handicapper……
    shooting r11 irons with c-taper 120’s….
have a question for you……I am thinking of upgrading to the RSI irons.
which would suit me? RSI 1 or RSI 2?
and would upgrading be worth it??

  12. Finally got around to hitting these today and felt compelled to chime in.
First, I am a Tmag hater, preference is Cobra, Bridgestone, and Callaway.

The slots are marketing hype, little to no benefit. That said, this is a
fantastic iron. Tested against the Z745, the jpx 850 forged, and Nike pro
combo. The RSi was more consistent by far in distance and direction. It is
also long, 203 avg carry from a 7 iron. Strong lofts for sure, but still
had a peak height of 42 yards. I am impressed. Waiting to check out the fly
z + before ordering but the RSi 2 is the best fit so far.?

  13. What ever the tin says on a Taylor Made product I will never buy it. I
rather stick with Titleist or Mizuno.?

  14. For all the Taylormade haters out there, every club has it’s place in the
market. Yes, they are a little gimmicky at times but, according to the
video numbers don’t lie. I have a mixed bag of clubs that work for me and
fill all my gaps. These new RSi irons might be exactly what a 15 handicap
needs to have confidence in his irons and help lower his scores. Still,
nothing beats the “feel” of a well struck forged iron.?

  15. So really, it’s not punishing a bad shot. You continue playing bad shots.
Really not improving at all.. Ehmmm no Thanks. When I’m ???? I’d like to
    realise I’m ????!!!?

  17. Really looking forward to your PING comparison. Hope with the RSi2 you use
the i25 and with the tm tour you use the S55 with similar lofts so it is
    accurate.?

  18. Actually not a bad looking iron. Reminds me of the Cleveland 588 TT irons.
I’ll stick with my Mizunos still.?
